BLUD.
BLUD is a social cause that is aimed at young people in the UK to donate blood. It was birthed due to my own personal experiences with receiving in accurately matched blood.
It brings young people together to help them understand why they should donate and to incorporate donating into their lifestyles.
The Problem
Only 1% of the black community donate blood & 40,000 more black donors are needed to meet the growing demand for better matched blood transfusions.
This is a problem as many people with Sickle Cell are POC and benefit from regular blood donations and having blood that is more accurately matched for better results.
What is BLUD?
BLUD is a social campaign that will educate & encourage young black people to donate blood. Seeing that there is a lack of education in the process of donating blood, BLUD is here to show that blood donation can be easy
With our visual style & approach being relatable to the target audience, BLUD is different from other blood donation campaigns.

Sometimes you need some words of encouragement, to do the right thing.
I liasoned with the NHSBT team at Stratford donation center to organize a blood drive. Members of the public came by and booked a slot to donate blood.
70% of participants were able to donate that day.
